The House of the Future — Full-Day Workshop

What will our homes look like in 2050?

Step into the role of a future architect and imagine how we could live, work and play in the homes of tomorrow. In this exciting full-day workshop, students will explore the challenges and possibilities of life in 2050, designing homes that respond to climate change, embrace smart technology and adapt to new ways of living.

Morning: Design Your Home of 2050

The day begins with ideas, imagination and creativity. Through drawing, storytelling and guided brainstorming, students will explore what the future might look like and develop their own vision for a House of the Future.

They’ll consider questions such as:

• How could homes respond to climate change?

• Where will our energy come from?

• How might smart technology change the way we live?

• Could our homes float, move or even grow?

• What could make a home more sustainable and adaptable?

Each student will create a final design poster showcasing their futuristic home, including innovative features and a unique name for their creation.

No previous architecture or design experience is needed — just curiosity and imagination!

Afternoon: Build the House of Tomorrow

Now it’s time to bring those ideas to life!

Using recycled and craft materials, students will transform their ideas into a 3D model of their futuristic home. They can develop their morning design or take their ideas in a completely new direction.

Think solar-powered roofs, floating foundations, vertical gardens, robot helpers, adaptable rooms and completely new ways of living — there are no limits to what the future home could become!
