The House of the Future — Full-Day Workshop

What will our homes look like in 2050?

Step into the role of a future architect and imagine how we might live, work and play in the homes of tomorrow. Explore the challenges and possibilities of life in 2050 and design a home that responds to climate change, embraces smart technology and adapts to new ways of living.

Morning — Design Your Home of 2050

Imagine what the future could look like through drawing, storytelling and guided brainstorming.

Explore questions such as:

• How could homes respond to climate change?

• Where might our energy come from?

• How could smart technology change the way we live?

• Could homes float, move or even grow?

• What could make a home more sustainable and adaptable?

Develop your own vision for a futuristic home and create a final design poster showcasing its key features, ideas and a unique name.

Afternoon — Build the House of Tomorrow

Transform your ideas into a 3D model using recycled and craft materials.

Build your futuristic home and experiment with new ideas, materials and structures. Imagine solar-powered roofs, floating foundations, vertical gardens, robot helpers, adaptable rooms and completely new ways of living.

Develop your morning design further — or take your ideas in a completely new direction.

Build the Future

Design, experiment and create a home that could change the way we live.

By the end of the day, you’ll have developed your own futuristic architectural concept and transformed it into a three-dimensional model.

Perfect for aspiring architects, designers, makers, builders and problem-solvers. No previous architecture or design experience is needed — just curiosity and imagination.
