Hey everyone! I’m Charles — and this is my Arts Awards gold project, which I’ve turned into something I’m excited about: a Comic Con-style event for helping amazing young artists meet and sell their original creations!
The CHARLES COLLECTION OF MIND-BLOWING ILLUSTRATIONS-CONVENTION is all about giving young comic artists and illustrators a space to show off their work, meet other creatives, and enjoy all things art, comics, and storytelling. I’d say to expect loads of fun artwork, fun conversations, a competition or two, and a chance to discover fresh talent. Whether you’re into drawing, storyboards, or just love looking at cool comics, there’ll be something here for you.So come along, check it out, and support some brilliant young artists. It’s going to be a great time — and who knows, you might even walk away inspired to start your own comic project!
Due to this being an Art Awards project, we will be taking photo’s.

Entry Rules

Submission Deadline: All entries must be submitted before midnight on 31 January.

Age Limit: All participants must be 18 years old or under.

Original Work Only: Your comic must be 100% your own work — no copying, tracing, or AI tools.

Allowed Formats: Entries may be hand-drawn or digital, but AI-generated art or writing is not allowed.

Required Pages: Your submission must include:

One front cover
-
One back cover
-
One A3 story spread (two connected pages)
No additional pages will be accepted.

Judging Criteria: We’re not just looking for great art — clever storytelling, creativity, and originality are just as important.

Content Guidelines: Keep your comic school-appropriate (no graphic violence, hate speech, or explicit content).

Format & File Naming: If submitting digitally, label files clearly with YourName_Title and ensure they are high-resolution PDFs or PNGs.

Team Entries: Solo entries only (no group submissions).

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded on the day of the event.

Rights: You keep full ownership of your work, but by entering, you allow the organisers to display your comic at the event and on social media
Call for Submissions!
We’re currently looking for young comic artists who’d like to exhibit their work at the convention! Space is limited to 25ish, so we’ll have to be selective — but if you’re passionate about your art and want to be part of something creative and fun, we’d love to see what you’ve got. Also there will be artist prizes which include a binder of all comics there, a holiday workshop of your choice, and a ton of sweets!Please submit your work before 31 January 2026 to be considered. Don’t wait too long — spots will go fast!
