INTRODUCTION TO ARCHITECTURE

Beginner Architecture
(suitable for students aged 11+)
Thursdays: 18:30-20:00pm

This course is for students interested in architecture who want to learn essential skills used by professionals. Through hands-on projects, you will explore the design process and learn to think and draw like an architect.
You will start with a simple project that introduces key drawing techniques, including creating accurate plans and elevations to scale. As you progress, you will use these skills to design and build a physical model of your own concept, turning your ideas into a three-dimensional form.
Duration: Self-paced (typically completed in 6 weeks, but flexible). Enrollment is open year-round, allowing students to join at any time.
Cost: £24.50 per session (commitment for one half-term)

Intermediate Architecture
(suitable for students aged 12+)
Saturdays: 13:30-15:00pm
This course is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career in architecture and have completed the Beginner Architecture Course (or can demonstrate equivalent skills). Building on the knowledge gained in the previous course, students will work on designing a more complex project. The course will also explore how to incorporate site restrictions into the design process.
Duration: Self-paced (typically completed in 6 weeks, but flexible). Enrollment is open year-round, allowing students to join at any time.

Advanced Architecture Part 1
(suitable for students aged 14+)

After finishing the beginner and intermediate courses, take on a challenging design for a sloping site. Learn how to conduct a site analysis and consider the site’s topography by mastering the skill of drawing a site section.
Duration: Self-paced (typically completed in 6 weeks, but flexible). Enrollment is open year-round, allowing students to join at any time.

Advanced Architecture Part 2
(suitable for students aged 14+)
Schedule to Come
Use your design completed in part 1 to create technical construction drawings. Learn how to change your design drawings into drawings that can be used by a builder, with dimensions, levels and notes.
Duration: Self-paced (typically completed in 6 weeks, but flexible). Enrollment is open year-round, allowing students to join at any time.

Designer Development
(suitable for students aged 16+ who want to apply to architecture or design school)

Complete a series of projects as part of your porfolio for architecture or design school. There are a range of projects to choose from specifically designed to enhance your portfolio and showcase your abilities.
Duration: Self-paced (typically completed in 6 weeks, but flexible). Enrollment is open year-round, allowing students to join at any time.
