At the Developer stage, students build on their understanding of game design and begin tackling more complex challenges. They learn how designers develop gameplay systems, structure levels and communicate ideas clearly, while exploring user experience, interface design and the relationship between gameplay and visual communication.

The Innovator Focus

How do game designers create new experiences?

At the Innovator stage, students explore how game designers create original experiences that challenge expectations and engage players in new ways. They develop their own creative voice while experimenting with innovative gameplay, interactive storytelling, immersive worlds and ambitious game concepts.
