Drawing Skills: Pet Portraits Date: 30July Time: 9:30-16:30 Cost: £50 (includes all materials and refreshments) Age: Suitable for students aged 11+ Learn how to capture the character of your favourite pet (please bring a photo of your pet) in this relaxed, hands-on portrait workshop. Throughout the session, we’ll explore different drawing and painting mediums so you can discover which best suits your style and your subject. Using step-by-step guidance and simple observation techniques, students will learn how to build a portrait from basic shapes through to expressive detail. We’ll look at animal proportions, facial structure, fur texture, shading, and expression to help bring your pet to life on the page. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with a range of traditional mediums, including: Pencil drawing – for structure, detail, and tonal control Watercolour – for soft, expressive colour and fluid brushwork Gouache – for bold, layered colour with more opacity and control Charcoal and soft pastel – for rich texture, contrast, and expressive mark-making Mixed media (pencil + ink / paint layers) – for combining line, tone, and colour Collage – for a more graphic, playful approach using layered materials Working from reference photos, you’ll learn how artists construct a portrait through observation, layering, and experimentation. This workshop is perfect for animal lovers, beginners, and anyone curious about exploring different ways of drawing and painting pets. Students will leave with a finished pet portrait and a toolkit of techniques they can continue developing at home. All materials provided.

Holiday Workshop Booking Policy 1. Booking & Confirmation - All workshop bookings must be made in advance through our official registration system. - Confirmation of booking is subject to availability and will be provided upon successful payment or registration. 2. Cancellation & Refund Policy - If you need to cancel your child’s place in a holiday workshop, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled start time. - As our staff and materials are arranged in advance, cancellations made within 24 hours of the workshop will be non-refundable. - For cancellations made with more than 24 hours notice, we may offer a refund or credit towards a future workshop at our discretion. 3. Attendance & Punctuality - Please ensure your child arrives on time for the workshop, as late arrivals may disrupt the session and impact their experience. - If your child is unable to attend due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, please notify us as soon as possible. 4. Safety & Supervision - Our workshops are led by trained professionals who ensure a safe and engaging environment for all children. - Parents/guardians must provide accurate emergency contact details at the time of booking. 5. Code of Conduct - To maintain a positive atmosphere, we expect all children to behave respectfully toward staff and other participants. - Any disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the workshop without a refund.
