Service Description
Introduction to Game & Character Design Workshop Date: 8 April Time: 9:30-16:30 Cost: £90 (includes all materials and refreshments. Please provide packed lunch) Dive into the world of game creation in this full-day hands-on workshop. Students will explore both game design and character design, developing skills to create their own playable games and memorable characters. Whether attending both sessions or just joining for one, participants will be able to create and develop original ideas from scratch. Morning: Game Design Workshop The morning session introduces the main elements of game design. Students will: -Explore different types of games and identify the core goals and mechanics that make games fun and engaging. -Brainstorm and sketch their own game ideas, focusing on rules, objectives, challenges, and player interactions. -Develop simple prototypes or paper-based versions of their games to test gameplay, level design, and player experience. -Playtest ideas and refine their designs, experimenting with balance, flow, and fun. By the end of the morning, each participant will have a clear understanding of game mechanics and a working prototype of their game idea. LUNCH BREAK (Please provide packed lunch) Afternoon: Game Character Design Workshop In the afternoon, students will focus on designing the characters for their games, or for someone else’s game if they missed the morning session. Participants will: -Explore what makes characters stand out in games, comics, or animation, and learn how to create original, memorable characters that tell a story. -Learn design techniques including silhouette, colour palette, exaggeration, and shape language to make characters instantly recognisable and expressive. -Sketch multiple character concepts, experimenting with poses, expressions, and features. -Refine a favourite concept into a fully realised character ready to fit into their own game, comic, or animated world. By the end of the session, students will have a collection of sketches and a finished character concept, ready to bring life and personality to their game or creative project.

Holiday Workshop Booking Policy 1. Booking & Confirmation - All workshop bookings must be made in advance through our official registration system. - Confirmation of booking is subject to availability and will be provided upon successful payment or registration. 2. Cancellation & Refund Policy - If you need to cancel your child’s place in a holiday workshop, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled start time. - As our staff and materials are arranged in advance, cancellations made within 24 hours of the workshop will be non-refundable. - For cancellations made with more than 24 hours notice, we may offer a refund or credit towards a future workshop at our discretion. 3. Attendance & Punctuality - Please ensure your child arrives on time for the workshop, as late arrivals may disrupt the session and impact their experience. - If your child is unable to attend due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, please notify us as soon as possible. 4. Safety & Supervision - Our workshops are led by trained professionals who ensure a safe and engaging environment for all children. - Parents/guardians must provide accurate emergency contact details at the time of booking. 5. Code of Conduct - To maintain a positive atmosphere, we expect all children to behave respectfully toward staff and other participants. - Any disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the workshop without a refund.
