Ocean inspired textile design & Paper Dress Sculpture Workshop Date: 7 April Time: 9:30-16:30 Cost: £90 (including all materials and refreshments. Please provide a packed lunch) Dive into a full day of creativity and design, exploring both pattern creation and 3D sculptural fashion in this hands-on workshop. Morning: Ocean Pattern Design Start the day beneath the waves and explore the beauty of the ocean through pattern design. Students will draw inspiration from sea creatures, coral reefs, shells, and flowing underwater shapes to create bold, original ocean-themed patterns for fabric. In this session, participants will: -Sketch and develop original motifs, experimenting with composition, color, and repetition. -Learn how patterns repeat to build seamless designs. -Discover how to turn hand-drawn creations into digital patterns using AI tools, extending their designs for online, DIY, or commercial use. All materials are provided—just bring your creativity. This session is perfect for anyone who loves drawing, textiles, fashion, and turning natural inspiration into standout designs. LUNCH BREAK (Please provide packed lunch) Afternoon: Paper Dress Sculpture In the afternoon, students will bring their patterns to life by designing and constructing elegant paper dress sculptures, inspired by the sculptural work of American artist Carrie Ann Schumacher, known for transforming fragile paper into intricate, thought-provoking couture forms. Participants will: -Use patterns created in the morning or develop new ones to explore paper as a fashion medium. -Experiment with cutting, layering, and shaping to create miniature dress sculptures on dress forms. -Learn how form, structure, and silhouette are essential elements of fashion design as sculpture. Develop 3D thinking and construction skills, expressing ideas through wearable art. By the end of the day, students will have produced a complete set of ocean-inspired patterns and a unique paper dress sculpture, combining 2D and 3D design skills in a creative and imaginative way. Suitable for all levels. All materials provided.

Holiday Workshop Booking Policy 1. Booking & Confirmation - All workshop bookings must be made in advance through our official registration system. - Confirmation of booking is subject to availability and will be provided upon successful payment or registration. 2. Cancellation & Refund Policy - If you need to cancel your child’s place in a holiday workshop, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled start time. - As our staff and materials are arranged in advance, cancellations made within 24 hours of the workshop will be non-refundable. - For cancellations made with more than 24 hours notice, we may offer a refund or credit towards a future workshop at our discretion. 3. Attendance & Punctuality - Please ensure your child arrives on time for the workshop, as late arrivals may disrupt the session and impact their experience. - If your child is unable to attend due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, please notify us as soon as possible. 4. Safety & Supervision - Our workshops are led by trained professionals who ensure a safe and engaging environment for all children. - Parents/guardians must provide accurate emergency contact details at the time of booking. 5. Code of Conduct - To maintain a positive atmosphere, we expect all children to behave respectfully toward staff and other participants. - Any disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the workshop without a refund.
