Date: 7 August 2025 Time: 9:30-16:30 (includes a one-hour lunch break) Cost: £90 (includes all materials and refreshments. Lunch not included – please bring a packed lunch.) Age: students aged 11+ Join us for a full day of creativity and fun, exploring the worlds of textile design and paper sculpture! Morning: Pattern Making for Textiles (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM) Start the day by learning how to create your own repeat patterns using lino printing and acrylic pens. Design and carve unique motifs, experiment with layering, and bring your ideas to life with vibrant colour. We’ll also introduce basic surface design principles—like balance, rhythm, and repeat structure—and teach you how to digitise your designs with easy-to-use AI tools. Afternoon: Paper Dress Sculptures (1:30 PM - 4:30 PM) In the afternoon, you’ll switch gears and explore the art of fashion-inspired paper sculpture. Inspired by the work of Carrie Ann Schumacher, you’ll design and build a miniature paper dress using the patterns you created in the morning—or start fresh with new ideas. This session focuses on experimenting with form, structure, and silhouette, while learning techniques like cutting, layering, and shaping. It’s a unique way to merge creativity and craftsmanship into a stunning 3D artwork. All materials and refreshments are provided. Please supply your own packed lunch. Holiday Workshop Booking Policy 1. Booking & Confirmation - All workshop bookings must be made in advance through our official registration system. - Confirmation of booking is subject to availability and will be provided upon successful payment or registration. 2. Cancellation & Refund Policy - If you need to cancel your child’s place in a holiday workshop, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled start time. - As our staff and materials are arranged in advance, cancellations made within 24 hours of the workshop will be non-refundable. - For cancellations made with more than 24 hours notice, we may offer a refund or credit towards a future workshop at our discretion. 3. Attendance & Punctuality - Please ensure your child arrives on time for the workshop, as late arrivals may disrupt the session and impact their experience. - If your child is unable to attend due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, please notify us as soon as possible. 4. Safety & Supervision - Our workshops are led by trained professionals who ensure a safe and engaging environment for all children. - Parents/guardians must provide accurate emergency contact details at the time of booking. 5. Code of Conduct - To maintain a positive atmosphere, we expect all children to behave respectfully toward staff and other participants. - Any disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the workshop without a refund.
