Step into the wonderfully weird world of Tim Burton Character Design, where the strange, the whimsical, and the beautifully eerie come to life. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to craft characters that feel like they’ve stepped right out of a stop-motion dream — full of charm, mystery, and a touch of the uncanny. We’ll explore key design techniques inspired by Burton’s distinctive visual language, including: Silhouette – Learn to craft bold, twisted outlines that make your characters instantly recognisable — even in shadow. From long, spindly limbs to hunched, crooked forms, you’ll discover how shape and posture tell their own haunting story. Palette – Dive into the moody world of blacks, whites, and melancholic tones. We’ll explore how limited colour schemes and subtle contrasts create atmosphere, evoke emotion, and enhance the otherworldly feel of your designs. Exaggeration – From oversized eyes to impossibly thin figures, you’ll learn how to push proportions and gestures just enough to give your characters that signature Burton-esque drama — expressive, stylised, and unforgettable. Shape Language – Every curve and corner whispers personality. We’ll study how jagged edges, smooth curves, and asymmetrical designs can communicate innocence, menace, or tragic beauty. By the end of the session, you’ll have a collection of darkly delightful sketches and a fully realised character concept — perfect for your own animated short, gothic comic, or surreal game world. No experience needed — just imagination, curiosity, and a love for the wonderfully odd.
Cancellation Policy
Holiday Workshop Booking Policy 1. Booking & Confirmation - All workshop bookings must be made in advance through our official registration system. - Confirmation of booking is subject to availability and will be provided upon successful payment or registration. 2. Cancellation & Refund Policy - If you need to cancel your child’s place in a holiday workshop, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled start time. - As our staff and materials are arranged in advance, cancellations made within 24 hours of the workshop will be non-refundable. - For cancellations made with more than 24 hours notice, we may offer a refund or credit towards a future workshop at our discretion. 3. Attendance & Punctuality - Please ensure your child arrives on time for the workshop, as late arrivals may disrupt the session and impact their experience. - If your child is unable to attend due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, please notify us as soon as possible. 4. Safety & Supervision - Our workshops are led by trained professionals who ensure a safe and engaging environment for all children. - Parents/guardians must provide accurate emergency contact details at the time of booking. 5. Code of Conduct - To maintain a positive atmosphere, we expect all children to behave respectfully toward staff and other participants. - Any disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the workshop without a refund.
